Auckland Residential Landscaping
One accountable team. Not five.
For Auckland homeowners who want a polished outdoor result without juggling a designer, a builder, a paving guy, a fencer, and someone who does retaining walls. One team. Design, build, aftercare.

A note from Joe
The moment you step out the back door, the polish shouldn’t stop.
For a lot of Auckland homeowners, there’s a strange disconnect between a high-end interior renovation and a backyard that feels like an afterthought. We call it the Status Gap.
You’ve spent properly on the inside. New kitchen, new joinery, the lounge feels finished. Then you walk to the back door, look out, and stop. Maybe you keep the blinds half-closed. Maybe you’ve stopped hosting in summer because the deck’s tired and the lawn never quite works. Maybe you’ve had two or three landscapers quote and walked away from all of them because no one could explain what was included.
I started TALC because I kept watching this happen. Premium homeowners don’t have a plant problem. They have a coordination problem. Five different trades, vague quotes, no one running the project. By the end, the result feels stitched together because it was stitched together.
The fix isn’t another landscaper. It’s one accountable team that holds the whole job. Design, scope, build, aftercare. Treats your outdoor space like architecture, not gardening.
That’s what we do. And it’s why our clients tend to start with one project and end up letting us finish the property.
Why this keeps happening
The real reason backyards never feel finished.
It’s not the materials. It’s not the design taste. It’s that no one is running the whole project.
- Five different contractors, five different schedules
- Designer hands you a plan with no buildable scope
- Quotes that don’t line up with each other
- You become the project manager by accident
- Variations land as surprises, not conversations
- No one accountable when something goes wrong
- Finished result feels stitched together, because it is
- One team, one schedule, one point of contact
- Design, scope and detailed estimate resolved together
- Itemised estimate with clear inclusions
- A landscape manager runs your project, not you
- Variations agreed in writing before any extra work
- One accountable team from concept through aftercare
- Result reads as one decision, because it is

It was a godsend to have a company you can trust and rely on.
Professional, well organised, with strong attention to detail. Joseph was always great to deal with and offered practical advice and kept us updated throughout the project. I was trying to manage part of the process while overseas and it was a godsend to have a company you can trust and rely on.
Auckland Homeowners
“Excellent communicators. Very professional. Returned and re-installed at cost of materials only.”
“Joseph and his team installed a large exterior landscaping project at our home. They were very responsive, excellent communicators and professional. One small element of the total installation did not perform as we expected, so they returned and re-installed a variation to the original design at cost of materials only. Highly recommend them and would work with Joseph and the team again.”
Mark BrowneŌrākei · Large exterior landscaping project“We used The Auckland Landscape Company for the second time in renovating the outdoor area of a property. Joseph and the team were excellent. Very easy to deal with, professional, thorough, and the place looks great. Highly recommended, I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.”
Clinton WilliamsŌrākei · Outdoor renovation (2nd project)“We had a huge job to do after an Auckland weather event, including large retaining walls and over 100m² of decks to be rebuilt. Joseph met with the Geotech engineer and the council multiple times and was always knowledgeable and had good advice. The team were friendly, hardworking and tidy. The end product was fantastic.”

What you’re probably wondering.
What does “one accountable team” mean in practice?
It means TALC holds the whole project. Design, scope, all trades, materials, build, sign-off. Under one contract, one schedule, and one named landscape manager who runs your project. You talk to one person, not five. Variations are agreed with that person before any extra work happens.
How is pricing handled?
The free initial review gives you a preliminary estimate. Enough to know whether the project’s realistic before you invest further. The on-site design consultation produces a detailed estimate with itemised scope, inclusions and indicative pricing. Variations are agreed in writing before any extra work happens.
What’s included in the consultation?
Site read, conversation about how you want to use the space, discussion of likely scope and constraints, and rough budget banding so you know whether the project is realistic before investing in detailed design. No pressure to proceed.
Is the consultation actually free?
The initial review is free. Fast callback, project walkthrough by video, satellite site review, and a preliminary estimate. If we’re a mutual fit and you want to proceed, the next step is a paid on-site design consultation where we develop a detailed scope and concept direction.
What about retaining walls, drainage, council consents?
We coordinate engineering and council where required. For walls over 1.5m, walls supporting surcharge (driveways, structures), or earthworks near boundaries, we’ll advise on consent paths during the consultation and manage the process if you proceed.
How long until you can start?
Depends on the time of year and project size. We’ll give you a realistic start date at quote stage, not a hopeful one.
What suburbs do you work in?
Across Auckland, with strongest project density in Remuera, Ōrākei, St Heliers, Kohimarama, Mt Eden, Epsom, Grey Lynn, and selected North Shore enclaves.
